Record Books

Thank you to those students that came to work on their record books a few weeks ago. If you are looking to get your LoneStar this year, you need to stop by Ms. Bozarth’s room ASAP to find out how to get started. LoneStar applications need to be finished by the beginning of May. Ms. Bozarth has laptops in her room for after school every day this week.

Banquet & Senior Slide Show

Seniors interested in participating in the senior slide show may submit 5 photos by May 6th to an advisor. Anyone who has pictures of functions or events throughout the year please be sharing those with the chapter or posting them to the Morton Ranch FFA Shutterfly account. We need all chapter pictures so we can feature everyone in the banquet slide show.

Students who are a 1st year member in FFA could receive their Greenhand degree. Students receiving this honor have built a foundation on which they will strive on during their high school career. Students earning the Greenhand degree will be awarded the bronze pin at the banquet. The Bronze pin worn by Greenhands symbolizes the endurance these chapter members have. If your student is a first time FFA member please make sure they fill out the Greenhand degree application and turn it into an ag teacher by April 24th.

Chapter Members

Students who are a 2nd year FFA member could receive the silver FFA chapter pin. These students have already earned the bronze pin as a Greenhand and now seek the silver pin of the chapter member. FFA members need to fill out the chapter degree application and turn it in to an Ag teacher by April 24th.  The Silver pin of a chapter member is a precious pin, as the students graduate from Greenhands and await the honor of the golden charm of the state degree.

MRHS has lost two Maverick FFA members in the past and the families would like to continue in honoring their children with a sponsorship in their child’s honor. The sponsorship helps student(s) with the initial purchase cost of a KISD Livestock Project of rabbits, a pig, a sheep, or a goat.  The applications are available on the white board in the ag hall and are attached. Applications are due back to Nite by May 4th.

Banquet Invite - attached

Every student should be inviting buyers, sponsors – including those that gave you an Add-on, and family to the end of the year banquet. Attached you will find a formal invitation for you to print in color and mail to your sponsors.  Please be reaching out to those that have sponsored you throughout the year from animals to fundraising and anything in between. This is one more way to say thank you to the community members that sponsor and support the Maverick FFA. This is your final animal requirement for the year.

Order forms for banquet meals are on the whiteboard in the ag hall and also attached. Order form and money is due May 6th. After that date the meal price goes up with limited quantity.

Community Service

Texas FFA is conducting a School Supply drive for this years’ service project. We are asking members to help us in gathering supplies to fill 16 backpacks that we will donate when we attend State Convention this summer. To help make sure we get all the supplies covered there is a sign-up sheet in the ag hall. 4 different supply items will equal 1 hour and these hours will count towards next year. (If you are unsure about hours, see Ms. Nite) Supplies are due by May 20th.

Meal ticket for the banquet has been made and attached to this email.  $10 for adults, $5 for children age 5-13 and 4 & under are free.  Order forms are due by May 6th @ 2:35 pm.   Please buy in advance, we will only have a limited number for sale at the door and you will have to pay $15 a plate.

Bens Chuck Wagon will be serving chicken spaghetti, mixed vegetables, salad and pasta salad with tea to drink.

Cookies- NO COOKIES THIS FRIDAY--No School 4/29/2016

This is a huge money maker for us.  Profiting an average of $200 a week. We are in need of more volunteers if you can help come on Friday to the main office and tell them you are there to help with cookies.

We bake from 7:30-10:15, and sell from 10:15 until gone  (usually about 1 pm).  The more help we can get the better.

We are still working on details about the sanction show, we will share more information as soon as it is available.

Thanks to all the volunteers that help out the chapter and the children!!!

Adult FFA Volunteer Hours should be submitted to me by emailing them to: or texting to 832-517-8577.
